{"id":323,"date":"2020-03-04T13:47:00","date_gmt":"2020-03-04T18:47:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost\/wordpress\/townpress-content\/?post_type=lsvr_notice&#038;p=323"},"modified":"2020-03-20T08:16:29","modified_gmt":"2020-03-20T12:16:29","slug":"free-well-water-testing","status":"publish","type":"lsvr_notice","link":"https:\/\/constancebay.ca\/index.php\/notices\/free-well-water-testing\/","title":{"rendered":"Free Well Water Testing"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why should you test your well water?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Well water can contain harmful bacteria that causes stomach cramps, diarrhea and other health concerns.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ottawapublichealth.ca\/en\/public-health-topics\/private-wells.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">Private well<\/a>\u00a0owners are encouraged to get their water tested every spring, summer and fall, even if it looks, tastes and smells fine.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Whether your test results are positive or negative, understand that the sample you collected is just a &#8220;snapshot&#8221; of your well&#8217;s water quality. The more samples you have tested, the more confident you can be about the quality of the water you are drinking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to regularly testing well water, owners should\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ottawapublichealth.ca\/en\/public-health-topics\/private-wells.aspx#How-well-water-gets-contaminated\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">inspect their well\u00a0<\/a>at least once a year to make sure it is free from damage and in good working condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Public Health Ontario (PHO) Laboratories test for the indicators of bacterial contamination (coliforms and E. coli).
