Prior to amalgamation in 2001, the community was part of\u00a0West Carleton Township. It is situated 25\u00a0km northwest of the suburb of\u00a0Kanata. The community surrounds the Torbolton Forest (a protected and managed green-space) and is located on a peninsula between\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbbca.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Constance<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbbca.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Buckham&#8217;s Bay<\/a>\u00a0on the\u00a0Ottawa River. According to the\u00a0Canada 2016 Census, the population of the community was 2,314. 86% of dwellings are occupied by usual residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The community has services of a (licensed) general store, 2 restaurants, a bar\/lounge, and a chapel. The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/rcl616.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Royal Canadian Legion<\/a>, Branch 616 is also located in the village.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A Community Centre is located in the centre of the community, the centre&#8217;s operation is overseen by the Constance &amp; Buckham&#8217;s Bay Community Association.
