{"id":775,"date":"2020-04-06T12:16:00","date_gmt":"2020-04-06T16:16:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/constancebay.ca\/?p=775"},"modified":"2020-04-08T12:18:19","modified_gmt":"2020-04-08T16:18:19","slug":"city-extends-current-covid-19-related-facility-closures-and-suspension-of-in-person-services-until-june-30","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/constancebay.ca\/index.php\/2020\/04\/06\/city-extends-current-covid-19-related-facility-closures-and-suspension-of-in-person-services-until-june-30\/","title":{"rendered":"City extends current COVID-19-related facility closures and suspension of in-person services until June 30"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>April 6, 2020<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Announcements and Events<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To continue our efforts to flatten the curve of the COVID-19 virus, the City of Ottawa is extending the closure of all City-managed facilities and the suspension of in-person services until June 30, 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The closures of the City-managed facilities include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>All recreation and cultural facilities \u2013 including recreation complexes, community centres, arenas, swimming pools, theatres, and museums<\/li><li>Public access to administrative buildings, including City Hall<\/li><li>All City parks and amenities: ball diamonds, courts, skateboard parks, play equipment and play structures, enclosed dog-park areas, and sports fields (including those at City recreation facilities)<\/li><li>Ottawa Public Library facilities \u2013 including the bookmobile<\/li><li>City-managed public spaces at Lansdowne \u2013 including the parks, Aberdeen Pavilion and Horticulture building<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The City will also continue to suspend in-person services, which include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Temporary closure of all City client service centres<\/li><li>The Provincial Offences Act courthouse, located at 100 Constellation Drive, Nepean, will be closed until May 29, 2020 (to be reassessed thereafter)<\/li><li>The closure of municipal child-care centres, with the exception of emergency child care for health care and frontline essential service workers<\/li><li>Building Code Services counters<\/li><li>Rooming house inspections<\/li><li>Taxi inspections<\/li><li>All hearings for the Animal Control Tribunal and the Property Standards and License Appeals Committee<\/li><li>Interior noise meter readings between 7 am and 11 pm<\/li><li>The Spay\/Neuter Clinic at 26 Concourse Gate \u2013 clients with previously scheduled appointments will be contacted to reschedule for a later date<\/li><li>The Business Licensing Centre at 735 Industrial Avenue<\/li><li>All front counter services for business licenses will be suspended. Clients can call 3-1-1<\/li><li>The Chief Licensing Inspector will also exercise delegated authority to extend renewal dates to be implemented for licensing categories expiring in March and April (to be reassessed thereafter)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The altering of some services will also continue:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Complaints for unauthorized parking on private property will now require new electronic procedures for proof of authority.<\/li><li>Only interior Property Standards complaints where immediate health and safety risks exist, or a vital services complaint, will be reviewed.<\/li><li>Ontario Works claimants do not need to drop off any documents, including income reporting statements. Those documents can be given the case worker at a later date.<\/li><li>People cannot visit the Employment and Social Services offices. They can apply by phone or online. Offices are operating on reduced hours, weekdays from 10 am to 3 pm.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Acquiring services or doing transactions online or by phone<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While our counter services remain suspended, residents can acquire some services and complete payments and registrations online or by phone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Residents can go to <a href=\"https:\/\/myservice.ottawa.ca\/profile\/account\/login\">myservice.ottawa.ca<\/a> to pay water bills and your interim property taxes. If you do not have an account, registration is simple \u2013 just sign-up with your email address. Once registered, you\u2019ll need your account or property roll number to pay your bill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>City bills have other <a href=\"https:\/\/ottawa.ca\/en\/living-ottawa\/taxes\/property-taxes\/tax-bill-and-payment-options\">payment options<\/a> besides the myservice.ottawa.ca accounts, which include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Paying by credit or debit card online at ottawa.ca<\/li><li>Paying through your financial institution by creating a payee number on your institution\u2019s mobile app or through an ATM machine<\/li><li>Paying by phone with your financial institution<\/li><li>Sending by mail<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Residents can access many other services online as well. You do not need to come in-person to a Client Service Centre if you want to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Register or renew a pet registration<\/li><li>Apply or renew an open air fire permit &#8211; Reminder &#8211; A city-wide burn ban has been placed by Ottawa Fire Services since April 1. All open-air fires are prohibited in the City of Ottawa until the ban is lifted.<\/li><li>Pay a parking or traffic ticket<\/li><li>Look up extension or reopening applications<\/li><li>Apply for a Food Premise Business License<\/li><li>Sign up for future recreation programs<\/li><li>Load and manage a Presto Card<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Council and committee meetings<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adhering to the Province\u2019s direction of limiting any gatherings to five people or less, in-person Committee and Council meetings have been cancelled. Such meetings, as warranted, will be held electronically until further notice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can watch the live City Council meetings on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCUR3i_hvk3-3i8vtrPg6v1Q\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ottawa City Council YouTube page (link is external)<\/a>. The meetings will also be broadcast live on RogersTV Cable 22 and live streamed on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rogerstv.com\/home?rid=4&amp;lid=14\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">RogersTV website.
