In the spring — this year Sunday, May 6, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. (Rain Date: Saturday, May 12, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.) — and again in the fall local residents pitch in the Clean Up the Bay in conjunction with the City of Ottawa’s Clean Up the Capital initiative. Meet at the Community centre for a couple hours of volunteerism. Many hands make light work of this seasonal chore, and our neighbourhood benefits. Watch the events section of this website and our Facebook page for exact dates and details.
Throughout the summer, the CBBCA offers paying jobs & community service hours to youth willing to help control weeds and clean up the many access lanes and the busiest beaches in the village. The tools they need and supervision will be provided, and they will receive an hourly wage.
The City of Ottawa handles household garbage and recycling in the area; Click here to go to the City’s recycling website.
